RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

De Randamie (hand) is unlikely to fight at UFC 214 on July 29 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Ariel Helwani of MMAFighting.com reports.

De Randamie has been dealing with a nagging hand injury, which has led her to consider surgery in advance of a rumored fight against Cris Cyborg. It is unlikely that "The Iron Lady" will be able to compete in what could have been her first title defense this July. Instead, De Randamie could be pushed back until the fourth quarter of 2017. If that turns out to be the case, the UFC may force her to vacate her featherweight championship.

De Randamie has yet to see a doctor to determine if hand surgery is needed, Damon Martin of FOX Sports reports.

Fantasy Analysis

De Randamie appears to have re-injured an old hand ailment during her UFC 208 fight against Holly Holm, where she picked up the inaugural women's bantamweight title. She did go to the hospital following her victory, but reports at the time seemed to indicate that this was due to concussion symptoms and not the hand issue. If any type of surgery is needed, there's a chance the UFC's latest new champion could be on the shelf again for several months. From there, the next step is scheduling her first title defense, whether it's a rematch against Holm or a date with Cris Cyborg, provided the latter clears up her USADA situation.
De Randamie was released from a brief stay in the hospital following Saturday's fight against Holly Holm, Damon Martin of FOX Sports reports.

Fantasy Analysis

De Randamie reported some slight headaches following her bout with Holm, so she was taken to the hospital for precautionary reasons. Everything seemed to check out OK, however, so it doesn't appear the new featherweight champion sustained any serious injuries. Though de Randamie picked up the decision victory, she certainly didn't get away unscathed, as Holm applied constant pressure and connected flush with a big head kick at the end of the third round. She'll likely need at least a few months to recover before defending her title against Cris Cyborg -- provided Cyborg is granted exemption from her recent USADA violation.
De Randamie won the inaugural UFC Women's Featherweight Championship on Saturday, defeating Holly Holm via unanimous decision (48-47, 48-47, 48-47) at UFC 208 in Brooklyn.

Fantasy Analysis

While GDR is a deserving champion, this victory will do nothing to dispel the fact that she is a kickboxer and not much more. De Randamie clearly landed the harder, more effective strikes. She easily backed up Holm during their exchanges and did a good job of stuffing whatever token takedown attempts Holm threw her way. She also scored with two big shots after the bell at the end of both Rounds 2 and 3 -- shots that were both illegal and should have resulted in a point deduction from referee Todd Anderson, who had a rough, rough night. De Randamie also appeared to tire a bit as the fight progressed, which will be an issue moving forward considering she will be competing in five-round fights for as long as she is champion. Any fighter worth her salt is going to try to grapple de Randamie. If an opponent is foolish enough to get into a Muay Thai fight with her, they deserve what they have coming. GDR fought well, but the prevailing wisdom is that she is nothing more than a placeholder for the newly created UFC Women's Featherweight Championship. Cris Cyborg is coming for her title at some point in the near future, and de Randamie is going to be an overwhelming underdog for that contest.
De Randamie will fight Holly Holm for the inaugural women's featherweight title at UFC 208, Brett Okamoto of ESPN reports.

Fantasy Analysis

De Randamie and Holm will square off at 145 pounds, representing the first title bout in the UFC women's featherweight division. There is some surprise that Cris "Cyborg" Justino, who has been campaigning for a 145-pound title fight for years, is not included in the fight, but she is recovering from a difficult weight cut in December and doesn't believe she'd be ready for UFC 208 on Feb. 11. De Randamie is 3-1 in her UFC career.
de Randamie defeated Anna Elmose via TKO (knees) at 3:46 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Sunday in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

Fantasy Analysis

Fighting in front of her hometown crowds, de Randamie couldn't have looked any better. The crowd was behind her in a way that you rarely see at UFC events these days and The Iron Lady responded in a big way. Add in the fact that it was de Randamie's first bout in nearly 14 months and the performance was even more impressive. de Randamie is now 3-1 in the UFC and her only loss was to Amanda Nunes who is going to fight for the women's bantamweight title against Miesha Tate at UFC 200 in July. de Randamie's ultimate ceiling is almost certainly rather limited, but there are plenty of women that she can beat.
de Randamie (undisclosed) is out of her fight against Sarah Kaufman that was scheduled for UFC on FOX 17 on December 19 on Orlando, MMAJunkie.com reports.

Fantasy Analysis

There's no word what type of injury de Randamie suffered or how long she will be out. UFC officials are looking for a new opponent for Kaufman, a sign that they hope to plan to keep her on the card. de Randamie is coming off a TKO win over Larissa Pacheco in March, while Kaufman was submitted by Alexis Davis in her last fight in April.
de Randamie will face Sarah Kaufman at UFC on FOX 17 on December 19 in Orlando, MMAFighting.com reports.

Fantasy Analysis

de Randamie is coming off her best effort in the UFC, a TKO win over Larissa Pacheco in March. Facing the experienced Kaufman will be a much stiffer test. It's a great opportunity for "The Iron Lady". Kaufman is ranked as a top-five fighter and de Randamie will have a chance to fly up the rankings if she can pull off the upset.
